Kate Pearce, Senior Planner for the Dorothea Dix Park
The Raleigh community has an extraordinary opportunity. The chance to create a new public space, of this size, in the heart of a city is remarkable – and simply unparalleled in the United States. If we rise to this opportunity, Dorothea Dix Park will have a unique ability to bring us together – to be a place of community belonging and wellness for all individuals and families. It will transform individual lives and will ensure a livable and sustainable region for generations to come.
Join us in exploring the past, present and future of Dorothea Dix Park. Kate Pearce will share stories that honor the legacy of the campus as the state’s first mental health hospital and provide a window into the planning process to create a world-class park. Please join us in the discussion to create Dorothea Dix Park as a place for everyone – a transformative public space for community wellness and celebration that will enrich the quality of life for existing and future generations of North Carolinians.
